Global leader in Product Lifecycle Management software opens Blaine, MN locationMINNEAPOLIS, MN - December 2, 2009 - On Wednesday, November 25, PTC, The Product Development Company®, celebrated the opening of its new Blaine office in the Lexington Preserve Business Center. In attendance were PTC's president and COO, Jim Heppelmann, and divisional vice president, Jane Wachutka, and CSM Corporation's Arne Cook. The mayor of Blaine, Tom Ryan, and Paul Moe, a deputy commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development were also present to celebrate the ribbon cutting and to welcome the software company to the community.Cook, CSM's president of commercial properties, states, "We are proud to partner with PTC and the city of Blaine on this exciting project. PTC is a strong, innovative and growing company that will add to the foundation of the Lexington Preserve Business Center and the city of Blaine." In addition to PTC's new building, the Lexington Preserve Business Center is home to Aveda, Minnesota School of Business, Deringer Ney, TPAC Underwriters, AT&T, Dungs Combustion Control, MagnetStreet, and Synergetic Solutions.
PTC will inhabit 92,300 square feet of office and research and development space in the business park. "PTC has grown by developing innovative Product Lifecycle Management software that addressed the product development needs of global organizations," explains Jane Wachutka, divisional vice president, enterprise product development, PTC.. "This new space brings our Blaine, MN research and development group together in an office that was designed specifically to address the needs of our research and development team. We are happy to be here and thank CSM and the city of Blaine for their efforts.
Built to suit PTC's specifications, CSM's John Ferrier also designed the new building to be architecturally similar to the existing buildings in the development. RJ Ryan was the general contractor, and The Smith Group worked with PTC to incorporate the tenant improvement design. The Lexington Preserve Business Center, a 2005 NAIOP Award of Excellence winner, has more than 370,000 square feet of property in addition to this new facility and has the capacity to house an additional 460,000 square feet. CSM will continue to lease office space and build-to-suit options within the business park.
